On Monday September 8th we were delighted to receive a visit from the triumphant Dee Rangers ladies football team. They have been crowned Meath Ladies Junior Football Champions, following their amazing win in last Saturday's final in Ashbourne, from which they emerged deserving victors with a 28 point win over Dunsany. Newtown National School is proud to have many past pupils on the team, and we congratulate them wholeheartedly, along with all of their teammates who put their heart and soul into their football. Many of our present pupils also play for Dee Rangers juvenile teams, and this team sets a fantastic example to their younger club members. The team were even generous enough to bring gifts of sweets to our pupils and the extremely well received gift of No Homework! :) Fantastic achievement ladies,thank you all for taking the time to visit us.
