Welcome to our new asd class page!
Welcome to our Autism Class page. We are very excited to meet our lovely new pupils and start having lots of fun and learning lots of new things! Here are some resources which I've found which may help in preparing for back to school. There is a large selection here, you may like to use one or two of them with your child. Next week, as soon as we have the new classroom furnished and ready we will provide you with our walk-through of our classroom and a personalised social story to read. Until then, hopefully you will find something of use here-there is a lot included here but please don't feel overwhelmed-the selection is simply to give choice and see if there is anything you feel would be of use to you, and if you choose not to use them, that's totally fine too! We hope you all enjoy the last week of the Summer Holidays, see you very soon! Mrs. Allen :-)

You may already have heard of the Tony the Turtle books. Written by ASD tutor Valerie Sheehan, they are a beautiful range of books covering lots of topics such as going swimming or shopping, getting your hair cut, trying new food, and lots more. Valerie has written a free resource called "Tony Goes Back to School" which is available by clicking on the image .
The Resource Pack above has been put together by AutismNI and while some of it may not be suitable for our class, there are still lots of ideas which may be of use, such as a countdown calendar and calming strategies.
Amanda from Littlepuddins.ie has an incredible amount of information and resources on her site. This is her starting school handbook for parents of children with additional needs.
